Buy One Give One Products for the Holiday Season

By December 3, 2014February 4th, 2021Media Monitoring

Tis the season, and this year, “buy-one-give-one” brands allow you to give even more. Whether you’re giving gifts, or creating a new public relations and marketing campaign strategy, these brands are worth checking out.

“Buy-One-Give-One” generally means that if someone buys your product, you will donate that same item to someone in need.  It’s great for socially minded entrepreneurs, and a growing number of CSR (corporate social responsibility) campaigns, as it’s enticing to both consumer and producer when both know the proceeds are going to a good cause.

Another variation of the buy one give one method is when a company may not necessarily donate that same purchase, but rather donate profits to charity instead.

You may already know the big brands that use these techniques: Toms, Warby Parker, Newsman’s Own, and Burt’s Bees, and we’ve spotted some of their media trends using Critical Mention analytics:

In the last week, Warby Parker and Burt’s Bees have dominated online news, garnering more mentions than Toms and Newman’s Own. The phrase, “buy one give one,” spiked around the thanksgiving holiday, showing just how far-reaching this CSR model can be during the holiday giving season.

In addition to the big guys, we’ve narrowed down some of our favorite brands promoting their buy one give one deals and charity-giving promotions this holiday season:
