As we move into the final quarter of 2021, Critical Mention continues to implement new products, features and platform updates to its Earned Media Suite. Many of these additions were inspired by client requests, and all platform improvements are made with the state of PR and communications in mind. The wants and needs of public relations and communications professionals are always evolving so we find it best to listen and even reach out to clients to see what products and features they’d like to see in our Earned Media Suite.
One of this year’s biggest additions to the Suite has been adding Instagram tracking to Critical Mention’s Social Media Monitoring solution. Users can track Instagram mentions as they’re being posted in real-time. Critical Mention has also added Twitter follower count, and Tiktok + Snapchat contact information to contact profiles within our Media Contact Database.
Broadcast to Database connection
One particular feature to note is the integration of a Media Contact Database alongside the media monitoring part of the platform. Together, these integrated tools, form our Earned Media Suite. Not only does the Suite allow users to track mentions and find valuable media contacts all in one platform, but clients can also reach out to producers directly through their saved earned media searches. This allows users to click on Host/Anchor/Actor/Producer contacts on their TV and Radio mentions to be redirected to that person’s contact information page in our Media Contact Database.
Critical Mention users can now navigate their Suite through our recently updated, mobile-friendly site. This update allows users the ability to easily navigate the following features through their mobile or tablet devices within our newly-designed platform:

Refined searches & analytics
Another highly-requested feature from users was a Google Analytics integration to the Critical Mention platform. With this feature, users can add Google Analytics charts and graphs into their customized reports before sending them off to clients and colleagues in their saved contact lists within the Suite. This integration allows users to view and customize Google Analytics website metrics alongside mentions in reports to understand the impact of earned media on web traffic and conversions.
Now, users can:
- Navigate search display by Users, Sessions, Pageviews, Goal Completions and much more
- Display Charts by Time, User Type, Traffic Channel, Source and Referrals
In addition to adding Google Analytics, Critical Mention now provides users the ability to track audience and publicity values for their radio mentions.
