Moms have an innate sense of what good PR is all about. In fact, the typical Mom dishes out a ton of image management advice without even realizing it. Here are a few classic examples.

“If everyone was jumping off a bridge, would you do it too?”
PR translation: Don’t be so quick to jump on the latest trend just because everyone else is. Stay focused and choose a communication style that feels natural for your brand’s unique personality.

“Do you think I was born yesterday?”
PR translation: Respect the intelligence of your audience. Be honest, and if you make a mistake, admit it. Don’t worry, they’ll still love you!

“Don’t use that tone with me.”
PR translation: You’re more likely to win hearts and minds, and achieve your goals, if you choose the appropriate tone and language for each of your communications.

“Look both ways before crossing.”
PR translation: Exercise caution before making a public announcement or launching a campaign. Think through your messaging to make sure you don’t get blindsided by unexpected backlash.

“Pay attention!”
PR translation: Keep your head in the game and always be the first to know…and use Critical Mention! It will keep you informed even when you’re not paying attention. (Just don’t tell Mom you’re cheating.)
