Critical Mention revolutionized a sleepy, service-deficient industry that relied on VHS tapes, DVDs and messenger services as the primary means for delivering TV clips to those who were the subject of on-air coverage. Starting in 2002 in the top 10 U.S. television markets, Critical Mention gave control to subscribers rather than forcing them to interact with legacy monitoring firms notorious for high prices and slow turnaround.
