Troubleshooting
Why can't I see the CTV Pro window open up when I try to search using the Toolbar?
Your browser might be blocking popup windows from Critical Mention. Please change your browser settings to allow popups from http://www.criticalmention.com.
NOTE: CTV Pro will always open in a new window
Why can't I run/save the executable file?
Please check your browser security settings for downloading content. You might see a prompt from the browser regarding the download.
Why don't I see the
search box and other buttons?
This happens when the username and password combination
provided is not valid. In this case the Toolbar shows a login button. Please
verify that your username and password combination is valid.
I forgot my password.
How do I get a new password?
If you forget your password, go to your Options and click on
'Forgot your password' link. Enter your username in the browser window that
opens up and click on 'go'. Your password will be reset and you will receive an
email with the new password.
Known Issues
- Doing an exact phrase search from the toolbar search box (i.e. by putting one or more words in quotes) is currently not supported and may lead to unexpected or inaccurate results
- On Internet Explorer 7, when you open the browser window each time, you have to click on the toolbar itself for it to show up in its entirety
- Even if the userid and password combination entered during installation is valid, the toolbar does not consistently show up in its entirety upon opening a new browser window. The workaround in this case is to click on the Login button and enter the userid and password and click Save.
