August 11, 2010

NEW YORK, August 11, 2010 – Critical Media, developers of end-to-end digital video solutions to capture, monetize, distribute and syndicate content online, today announced the Critical Mention business unit’s launch of CriticalTV 4.0 in beta. The expanded CriticalTV platform now also offers complete real-time, searchable coverage of all 210 U.S. television markets across the U.S. – up from 160 markets – and select programming from Canada, the U.K. and the Middle East.

CriticalTV is the most comprehensive broadcast capture network in the industry, digitizing the world's TV and radio broadcast news and making it searchable in real-time. The platform indexes nearly 27 hours of television every 60 seconds across four continents and more than 1,000 sources.

“CriticalTV 4.0’s enhancements further establish Critical Mention as the leader in TV and radio intelligence solutions. While competitors continue to charge exorbitant fees for delayed, à la carte content, we put the client in the driver’s seat with easy-to-use, real-time video search providing immediate alerts within one minute after clips air live,” said Sean Morgan, CEO of Critical Media. “Now that we have expanded to include every local U.S. TV market, CriticalTV is the ultimate 24/7 broadcast intelligence solution, eliminating the wasted expense and time required of other broadcast search providers.”

Among the new features is Mention Meter, a “Share of Voice” charting widget offering real-time analysis of up to four different entities' share of broadcast media coverage during a user selected time interval. Other features of CriticalTV 4.0 include:

  • Customizable interface and homepage that provide each user with key information at a glance.
  • Quick search by program name with auto recognition, which lets users pinpoint hits even without the exact name of programs.
  • Ability to display real-time news feeds of user-selected searches.
  • Advanced search functionality with easy, point-and-click functionality enabling users to conduct segment searches by multiple variables such as call sign, program name, network and markets.
  • Wordplay editing providing the user with point-and-click video editing from the text of the segment, speeding up the process.
  • Customizable alert scheduling so users can schedule alert delivery by email on various intervals.
  • Enhanced web-based reporting to best showcase media coverage now with drag-and-drop segment ranking.
