vegas showcasing the latest and greatest and i collected a few things that have caught my eye. the show officially kicked off last night. you are looking at the latest netbooks. a huge craze because smaller mobility and it is all about technology that you can take with you. these hp minis are beautiful and they are under $300. check this out. this is generating a lot of buzz. this is the touchsmart under $1,000. it looks like a regular laptop, but it has a flip-back screen. you turn it around and it becomes a touch screen slate computer. slate and tablet pc's are getting a lot of attention. this is where the industry is going. i want to show you this. this is the latest smartphone from samsung. this is streaming live local broadcasts to your phone. it is the samsung moment and it is from sprint and will begin trials in washington, d.c. in a few weeks from now in fact. you can now take your broadcast programming with you. this is looks like a regular old pen. if you unscrew it here, you see his usb connecter. you touch the top part of the pen and this is a video camera and it stores 2 gigs of video and audio. it costs about $100 and i want to end with this. this is kind of fun. this is from tunebug. not the helmet, but this device back here. you plug this into your ipod and it sends vibrations through the helmet so you can listen to your music through your skull. this is cool for snow borders because you can listen without losing what is happening around you in your environment. it is this device that attaches to helmets and people are getting excited about that too. just a taste of what is going on here. 3-d television, that you don't need glasses to watch. you have to see this took believe it. we'll feature it on cnbc. >> do you have a favorite? >> reporter: you know what? i like these touch screen pc's but this 3-d tv, it reminded me of the first time i saw hdtv and virtual reality years ago. it is clearly where the industry is going. they are going to be out within the next couple of months. >> thank you. we wish you were more interested in what you are doing out there. great job. >> sorry, i get excited. >> cool stuff. >> thank you so much. still ahead, why things will be looking less christmassy around here. >> and we'll tell you what to do if you would like to take home, one of these adorable chihuahuas.
